About

My name is Paul, and I am an alcoholic.

I have learned that often, churches struggle when it come to dealing with people in addiction or the early stages of recovery. I will provide insight on what it is like to live in recovery and ways I believe churches can provide a safe place for people in recovery to do exactly that…recover.

At the same time, I believe there are many people in our society who struggle to have their voices heard. This will also be a place where people who otherwise may not be heard will have a voice.

I have been married to Shawna since 1997. We have three children squarely in the middle of adolescence, so please pray for us!

I work as Classroom Instructor for FaithWorks of Abilene–a non-profit whose mission is to help the unemployed and under-employed find the confidence and skills necessary for gainful employment (check out the website!). I am also working towards full licensure as an LPC and LMFT.

I will posting every Monday on this blog. I hope you will read, interact, and share!
